Alkram was once the general of the Eargen Republic's military forces during the Federation-Mantis War under leadership of Aerkae. After his assassination and the Eargen Republic's distancing from the Hive, Alkram retired from the military and for several years watched as his people were flung into further turmoil until the appointment of Tyrdeo. Highly skeptical of Tyrdeo's motives, Alkram eventually decided it was time to take action and seize control of the Republic. He failed, as you already know, but he doesn't seem too bothered by it anymore.
